MEET THE DIRECTORS

Justin Eikenberry and Josh Yoder

Justin Eikenberry and Josh Yoder decided to start Peru Pride Alliance after witnessing a direct need for LGBTQ+ acceptance in their community.  Justin and Josh own Streaper's Entertainment, a local haunted attraction in Peru, Indiana and work closely with many youth volunteers during the month of October.  While working with the younger volunteer cast, Justin and Josh have created a safe space for everyone to be themselves and a creative outlet for many young kids in the community.  Justin and Josh make it known that there is no room for any type of hatred and that they do not tolerate bullying LGBTQ+ volunteers.  They encourage uniqueness and give many teens the chance to be themselves.  In 2018 Justin and Josh started discussing the idea of creating an LGBTQ+ group to begin creating an open and safe place for anyone in the LGBTQ+ to turn to and feel welcome.  In 2019, with the help of Mallory Helvie and other community volunteers, PPA was born and they began hosting small events.  In 2020 they hosted their first Drag Show and many other events since then.  They hope to make a difference in the community they call home; opening just one person's mind can change a thousand hearts.
